I liked them the moment that I met them. They were fun. You know how you just know? I knew. They had a cool venue, fun families and their number one agenda item was to enjoy their wedding. I love when that happens.
I liked them even more the second time that I met them (please note that this time there was beer and this amazing pizza that I really haven’t gotten over). A few things had gone wrong—all minor in retrospect—and I reminded them that as long as they enjoyed themselves, the day would be a huge success and everything would fall into place.
And then it rained. But the energy inside The Sanctuary on Penn was good all day. There was some pool being played, a few shots being taken, a few hangover remedies being tried and the Irish were playing in Dublin… it was going to be a good day. Rain schmain.
They had the time of their lives. We had to call a few audibles and adjust a few things, but we made it work. They were wonderful and so, so happy. It was amazing. Congrats, friends. And props to Billy for ripping his pants.
Thank you, as always, to Abby Hacker Photography for being awesome, for standing with me in the sideways rain, and for chauffeuring the bride around in a pinch. Xoxo.
