A funny thing happened on the way to Emily and Reilly’s Bloomington wedding. I rang Emily on the phone to tell her I was stopping at the drug store to get batteries and asked if they needed anything. Emily’s matron of honor immediately gave me a short list of things to pick up—fake eyelashes, eyelash glue, etc. I didn’t think twice about it, grabbed the items and headed over to the venue. When I got there, poor Emily was mortified. It turns out that they thought they were talking to Molly O’Connor—a bridesmaid—and felt awful for giving me a to-do list. I loved it. And, so it began…
This is just a great couple. It was one of those unique situations where I wasn’t able to have a face to face with them prior to their wedding, as they live in Washington, DC. But, I just knew I would like them. And they didn’t disappoint. There were top hats and whiskey and an amazing dress and Halloween costumes and human pyramids and Irish dancing and all kinds of tomfoolery. That’s as good as it gets, friends.
I hope South Africa was wonderful! Thank you so much for letting me part of your perfect day.
Emily secretly took Irish dancing lessons for months, so that she could surprise Reilly with a performance during their reception. Needless to say, he loved it.
Thank you to Rebecca Shehorn for being an amazing second shooter. We rocked it.
